I was up at 5 this morning, got the crew together, filled the cans with petrol and down to the marina.
The sea looked like glass and we had plans of heading for the horizon, but it was'nt to be !!!

Had trouble starting the engine and it normally starts first click, got it going with a few revs on but it was'nt right. So we decided to give it a spin around the marina.
We soon found out that it was'nt right. when going above 200 rpm the engine alarm sounded and engine would die off, limp home mode maybe ?

Checked the usual out ; oil, petrol, water flowing, but no joy.

Waited till a reasonable hour and rang the mechanic, tried a couple of things he suggested but still no luck.
He's coming out tommorw afternoon to plug the engine into diagnostics and hopefully see whats what.

Typical when we have the best forcast in a while, but thats life lol.

Main thing was that it happened while we were in the marina and not 30 mile out an hour later, so thankfull for that.

Might get the teak oil out tommorow and give her a touch up while I wait for the "GOOD "news.

If I was'nt on the raggy pontoon I could have taken the gin and tonic down while I waited lol. Maybe a stella for when the "GOOD" news comes.

The mechanic came out and plugged the engine in this afternoon, must have reset something in the electronics or some thing but it's working fine again now, just fingers crossed it does'nt happen again.

All done under warranty and the mechanic was a real nice fella.

We decided we would try and get out for couple of hours on the afternoon to give the engine a good test close in and try to find some Mackeral to freeze for the winter.

The engine was fine (touch wood) and we eventually found a good shoal of macky to keep us busy.
Came back in as it was getting dark to some canny views of the harbour / headland lights.

Managed to get some macky scales and pouting slime on my new rod to christen it.
I gave in to Keith and Tonys reports and bought a fladen maxximus-solid carbon-green rod.
Seems a nice bit of kit, unbeleavably light and thin.
