well went in boat yesturday,can't say i was impressed.wasted 2 hrs going to a wreck he had'nt fished before 30+ miles off,then another 2 and half hrs wasted comming back,can't see why time was wasted going looking for wrecks he had not been on should'nt he have done that in his own time and not wasted our valuable fishing time.he should have played safe and went on wrecks that would have maybe fish on them and give us a chance to come home with something decent,which guess what we did'nt 1 codling and a small ling i got ,what a wasted day 9hrs and on estamate after the running around we had maybe 2 hrs out of that in the water.£60.00 it cost and £10.00 for the hire of a rod,i should have went to the pier as i would have getting better quality fish never mind put down as a learning experience. i was told other boats that run out of the area have rods and reels to use at no charge.out of all the the boats i have been on this was the worst.

It was my boat wildcard.
Daz you were charged £60 for a trip which normally costs each angler £125. It was a platinum trip and the forecast was perfect for it.
The reason it was half price was because we were running to some wrecks we had never been to yet and were not sure we could find them. I explained this to the lads mother who booked the boat - who obviously never told you. There are lots of wrecks at that distance that we do know about - but never got to fish them.
The forecast was for a 5mph sw wind at 7.am so the plan was to run off to around 60 miles so we steamed out at 6.am for 2 1/2 hours so that all fishing would be done at long distance. The conditions once there deteriorated to a 12mph nw wind which meant it was unfishable. We therefore steamed back in for safetys sake.
You paid £10 to hire a rod from me (of which I have to pay VAT) and managed to snap the braid at the surface. Result = new spool of braid @ £18.
Two sides to every story.

my point is that you wasted mine and other share of fuel money,{ in your words not mine}searching for wrecks that maybe you could not find.This should have been done on your time not your customers,i appreciate that you steamed back at 8 knots for saftey reasons.as for the braid the reel was less than half full you snapped the line at the surface not me.and at the most i would have said total amount of line lost would estimate £3.00 like you said two sides, this is the last comment i will make on this subject as i'm not going to bore the rest of nesa user by arguing with you ,i have a right to my opion and did'nt name your boat on hear .i kept it totally confidential to other users but instead you replied on the forum ,you could have used the private messaging facility.Originally posted by wildcard View PostComment

hey m8 as i said ,i'm not going to bore the nesa forum with this.you can post as many opions as you like but mine still stands,if being honest with myself and other wanting a trip.i would be lying to them if i said you were the the best in hartlepool,i spoke to other fellow anglers who fished the flamer ll and they were more than satisfied with there skipper,and went home with **** loads of fish same day same tide,same weather.so give me another reason to keep writing.in-experienced skipper and crew,when you docked the boat you nearly took the back end off. enough said.i also had a look on wsf off your tag and found alot more dissatisfied customer do you want me to post the link as other opions,if you look at your pics of fish theres always 4 to 5 fish and there jumping aboard but yet the fish boxes are empty.Originally posted by wildcard View PostLast edited by Guest; 11-09-2009, 08:03 AM.Comment

Daz the problem with boat fishing is it is very unpredictable. You could have hit a wreck which was busting with big cod and had the best day of your life.
I am no expert but out of the few trips i have had out there has only been one really good fishing one and that was at Whitby when i did well (but others on the boat did rubbish).Thats why its called fishing.

no guarantees by being out on a boat that you'll come back overflowing with fish, just the same as fishing the pier. there's good days and bad days.
not taking sides, just the way it is, out of interest though, would peeps be happier if they spent 9hrs in shore scratching for fish and find nowt, or put the effort in to a big steam off shore for a couple of hours and still caught nowt?
t'other side of it is the trip off shore might have paid of in spades and you would be over the moon
The other problem charter boats face is if they visit the same wrecks every time out, because they know there might be fish there, it wouldn't be long before they were fished out, which does no-one any goodʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ.

Average Slinky trip is about 8-10 hours...we've had average days, bad days and great days...sometimes the bad days have come when conditions are "perfect" so like has been said before Boat fishing suffers the same swings and roundabouts as the shore fisherman - it's not always "instant" fishOoh a new vid!

On the very rare times I get out I've had days where we've completely blanked, blanked and lost massive amounts of gear, bought masses of bait and lures only to have the weather suddenly change for the worst etc etc. Just happens.Comment

hi lads ,i only stated my opion of how the days fishing went.and then the defensive mode kicked in from the said skipper.who's had more than his fair share of complaints from others.before i got on the boat it was 40.00 if i had known it was a platuim trip 125.00 i would.nt have got on ,i would'nt have paid the 60.00 if i had known.then he blames my mate that did'nt tell me the price,he was'nt told either ,if he had the said skipper would nt have wrote it down on a piece of paper on the boat as my friend is deaf and asked is that ok,i've been on plenty of boats from whitby to shields but never been with someone as in-experienced as this guy.to have less than 2hrs in the water all day is bad and not worth what he was paid,if i had 8hrs out of 9hrs in the water and not caught anything i would be happy.Comment

60 quid m8 no way i would have got on any boat asking for that much, could fill ya freezer for that not just with fish lol, not bothered about wrecks at best as most of time there crap as got told by a pro skiper there so overated as when ya drift is finished ya on mud, so have to steam again to another mark, i prefer the rough ground any day to wrecks, before ya all say but thats were the big ones are so what? i like a day on boat fishing at leisure jigging , bait fishing, keep ya steaming out for hrs for a a big fish if i want i one a big fish i,ll go to market etc, wreck fishing to me is so overated and not my thing at all, soz for jumpin ya post m8 off the chest now, wrecks are so overated is my point what happened to the days when you could fish all f day ? lol waste diesel charge the punter comes to mind, i,m happy on a boat using mussel over rough ground thats fishing to me not reel in lads, reel in again lads and again all day as thats a joke not fishing, my brother used to on boat in the 80s and bag up every week without wrecking and these days are the same put mussel on hook ya laughing, but to to get back to this wasted trip is a laugh i feel for the lad getting ripped off, platinium etc what crap why not just say 130 for so called trip, i dont see you ever getting many bookings on this review, ok rub is face in it it with crap links these guys done brill for 120 quid lolLast edited by keithm; 12-09-2009, 12:24 AM.Comment
