  • TLD Drag

Took my reel apart yesterday to give a clean as it's starting to sound a bit grindy when reeeling in...

anyway...put it back together and I'm having trouble getting the drag to tighten up correctly

    any ideas anyone?

I know the drag mechanism is inside the spool (I didn't touch that) is it a case of tightening the drag up a little manually then reassembling??

    Cheers in advance
    Ooh a new vid!

Put the lever back in the "free spool" then hold it there till you tighten the drag nut.

If it's grinding it's probs the bearing in the side plate, just changed Kyle's for him.

    It's a 7x17x5 bearing £10.36 delivered from - Simply Bearings Ltd

    There's probably cheaper places.
    Cheers, Keith.

Cheers Keith - will try that tonight

I was having trouble with that tiny little spring and clicker on the anti-reverse as well before I realised you can put the side plate back together with the handle in situ

Bearing sounds likely...I thought perhaps it was verdigre'd gearings at first but they were spotless

Yeah, refit the handle to hold the anti reverse in place before you refit the side plate.
        Cheers, Keith.
