  • Good news and VERY BAD NEWS.

Went out kayaking this morning was a slow start, picked up a lone mackarel a further hours fishing produced nothing so we moved to a spot that had worked for us before, soon as we touched bottom me and my cousin were straight into a pollack each of about 2lb, dropped again and both straight in again , but this time my cpusins rod bent over doulbe and he did well to keep hold of the rod, after a frantic scrap on light gear he pulled in a pollack of around 7lbs. few more drifts and we were still picking fish up.

After 3 hours fishing we managed around 15 pollack between us a codling of 3lb a few mackeral, sand eels, weavers, coleys.

Took a few fish home for the table and the others were released alive.

Now the bad news, after that nice fishing session i come home to find my 400 litre fish tank half empty with water Pi$..ng all over my carpet, dont know whats happened, but there is water everywhere.

    Cant believe my luck sometimes.

unlucky about your tank and carpet m8 .......but nice day on the yak...were you bait fishing or using leadheads / jiggers .....if artificials were used.. what colour was most successful ?.....when we have been yakking we have found day glo orange seems to be the in colour at the moment over rough ground around the 60ft - 80ft mark..
    hope your sorted soon
    cheers

Thanks very much for the offer mate, luckily i have a fish house with enough space.

We were fishing with lures, using tinsels and small hokkais. The tinsels took the bigger fish, but the hokkais too more quantity. we were fishing over heavy kelpy ground.

must be awful that mate ive got marine and fw running and would be gutted if either went i did have a leak from my 200gal external once water ran through the floor down the walls to the sitting room missus werent happy. Thinking of selling the fw tank though marines are much better and cost a lot of ££££. Do you go yaking off seaham way mate?
