  • Let down today

i have just returned from a 98 mile round trip from newton by the sea for an 8am start on the boat, when the skipper failed to show by 8/40am the air was turning a bit blue with anger,we eventually made contact and what he neglected to tell us was he now operates out of SEAHOUSES he said the trip was still on and would stay out a bit longer but because 2 of the party were on nightshift tonight they didnt want to go which left 6 of us to decide what to do, so we decided that the extra cost between us was to much so we called it a day and came home, what was going to be a good day was ruined by the neglect or absent mindedness of the skipper who will no longer be used by us again

Well you learn something new every day. I never knew there was a charter boat running out of Newton by the sea. Sorry to hear your day ended up being wasted. Whats the boat and the skipper's name

Fair enough say no more, But I'm curious the Newton By The Sea that I know hasn't a harbour so how were you and your party going to board the boat. Was the boat able to be beached to board or was a tender needed.

you never missed owt today mate the fishin was sh1te all over. but to be honest the problems you had today are what generally happens when you book with a mickey mouse outfit. a legit charter boat rarely lets down a party like that

Hard luck mate it happened to some lads off the wsf forum when we organised a trip last year. Unfortunate but these things happen. At least we had a days notice-it must have been a right bummer turning up and being told.
