Go to Caleys on N.Shields fish quay £10 for a good knife.

They also do a sharpener for £10.
    Cheers, Keith.

Thanks lads, was thinking of popping into the butchers, i know a fishmonger would be better ,but i know the butcher, just to see if he could advise, if his knifes can cut into lamb, beef etc, then sure it would cut into fish , just thought if anyone had bought something good would save me the trouble.

        Cheers Lads

better off going for a propper fillet knife as blades are more flexable and because they are not as deep the flesh doesn`t stick to it as much

caleys on north shields fish quay ,,cost from £14 very sharp with wood handle. you.ll need to get sheath for it. had mine 4 years still perfect and if you can afford it treat yourself to a decent butchers steel .then ask one of the filleters on fish quay how to use it and you.ll wonder how you ever managed before. fillets fish bootiful

As long as you keep it razor sharp and oiled between trips it`ll be fine.
