    nice one alan - seems like alot of bait used which fished best big baits or lures/jiggers.

    not looking too good for monday at the moment
    UK Met Office - Europe MSLP Analysis & Prognosis

    depends what the high in the atlantic decides to do may be better towards the end of next week with the wind veering westerly.

    still things do change when pressure systems change there are westerly winds following the current charts depends which way the systems move a low moving to the northeast of here would bring westerly winds (anticlockwise around the centre) while a high to the south of here would bring westerlies (clockwise around centre) the best would be a high sitting straight over the top of us for some days as this would give light winds and very settled weather.

    Currently the systems look a bit confused so may still pan out to be ok.

    i am off all next week so will be available all week if monday is called off but fingers crossed.

        Lofty who caught the biggest cod targeted it by fishing big squid baits all day. The lads on shads and other lures were dusting him 3:1 with double headers often coming aboard.

        He stuck to his guns though and caught a couple of double figure fish before the big cod took his big multiple squid bait. He has only ever fished on my boats with methods I have shown him, so I was really pleased for him when he won the sweep. There were some very good anglers aboard, but his second and third biggest would have won him the money as well.

        Quantity wise though, jiggers with red hokeyes were the business;

          is that a 74 mile round trip or 74 mile offshore?

          150mile there and back seems a long way in a day, even hammering at 20knots thats nigh on 8 hours steaming?

          Thought for the day:
          Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

          Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

            8 hours steaming and 6 hours fishing. The same lads want to try a 20 hour trip just to get more fishing in
