Never tried but if you look at one of my reports from this year, i pased over a shoal of tinny squid..no more than finger nail size.
Found a few in the rock pools at Tynemouth as a kid....hay if Robson Green can do it we all can, love that program but he no fisherman lol................__................................ .............................

did catch a massive one last year on a jigger it was about 1 foot long and squirted ink all over me mate - so it had to go in the pan on the boat MMMMMM.give a man a fish and feed him for a day - teach the man to fish and feed him for life!!!!

Not done it around these parts but had a trip out for them whilst out in malasia.
You rig the boat out strip lights overhanging the water. Go out after dark. Turn on the lights and hey presto the squid turn up.
You get soaking wet and covered in ink but great fun and I did end up wondering what was just below the squid in the depths as the number of squid must have atrracted some major predetors.
Wonder how long before you attracted attention from HMRC if you drove round in these waters with the boat decked out like Blackpool tower?
