  • Perspex and to launch or berth............

Smashed the perspex slash screen on me boat now need a peice around 7ft long and around 14" high. Looked in the diy places but nothing suitable anyone got some ideas where I can get a peice.

Also looking now to berth at Amble marina rather than the trailering and launching. Is going to be more money but think I would get out more in the long run.
Any thoughts out there who have done the same thing or are at the marina now.

    Many thanx.......

Try Bastion plastics (Washington) tel 0191 4166394.
Also try searching on internet for suppliers of plastic.
I will only be out for a couple of hours pet.

Try sign makers they use the stuff all the time. I would use clear polycarbonate, as it doesn't crack or smash like perspex does. It'll do the same job.

Get a berth at the marina George , it's much better than launching and retrieving your boat every time you want to go out. I put mine in last summer and it made going fishing so much easier I wouldn't give it up now. You can go out virtually any state of tide (one or two springs you have to avoid the low) and it takes minutes from arriving at the marina to opening her up out through the piers. It is a bit more expense , but you will get far more fishing time and I think it's well worth it.

It's the Marina for me George, me and Micky have been in there for three years and it is hassle free boating. It isn't cheap but the extra fishing time make it well worth it.

Was it held on with metal nuts and bolts as thats what someone told me to do but another guy explained that if you use the plastic ones then they snap before the perspex

i have details for nylon nuts ands bolts if you want some

Thanx for the info lads Going to stick the boat in the marina next season just over the summer season to keep costs down. Paid me dues this year for the boat club so will slog on with launch this season.
