Well my promised tuna fishing trip went ahead yesterday, full of enthusiasm and the prospect of landing a big one. Well according to the little man his captain knows all the best marks and what can I say?? Five hours of my life never to be seen again. A medically induced coma would have been more exciting. Sat around for an hour for the captain who forgot we were booked. No batteries for the fish finder, capt's idea of moving to another mark was sailing around the anchor ropes/chains attached and drifting back over the same spot. One small fish type thing caught on a rod and reel set that was no better than my travel spinning rod and reel. And the final insult..... The hotel BBQ served bigger sprats than what was caught. Never again. The good ship Rania isn't so good. Give me Seaham pier or Craster with Dougie Hogg any day. And now my soap box is going away...... 😩

I was in two minds about the Tuna fishing in Cyprus. Cost was 60 Euro. I spoke to some other local fishermen before paying and they said don,t waste your money trying for Tuna.
Skipper just takes you for a jaunt and odds on getting one were very small. It was also the wrong time of year.
Mind the boat looked the bizz.

Nothing worse than being all revved up and it turns to crap.
Here's a place in southern Ireland that does tuna charters.
