  • Tidal Data

    Hello all,
Just found out that in 2002 UKHO [UK hydrographic office] withdrew the free access to tidal data both for the new predictions and access to old records. If you want to have your own personal tide info for next year from the UKHO website, it costs around £100. Only the first 7 days is free. You cannot get any further info without paying. There is a petition on the Downing Street site to allow free access to the data so that all the tidal data sites can publish tide tables free as they did before.
This is the address to sign the petition.
Petition to: Make tidal prediction data freely available. | Number10.gov.uk

If you buy a programme to forecast the next year or three, it should make it a little cheaper if the data was free like it used to be. If you think about it, paying for tidal predictions that are done with our tax money is like another stealth tax on sea fishing.
