Fortunately perhaps, we weren't going to get out until 6:00pm - ish tonight due to the tides and St. Peters being ever so friendly but a pain in the nuts if you want to use yer actual boat. As you might imagine I was looking forward to it, I believe no.1 skipper was as well as he'd left his old mam clutching her chest and drinking out of puddles for the next few days. We can't see the sea from where we are - in a housing complex 4 hours drive from the nearest wreck! - but knowing the craic we stayed put (again aaaargh) we'd have had to tool about in the river till 7 on Sunday to get back in.
Had one result - I had a brainwave due to my knowledge of boats and forensic mindset said to Mark - "I bet there's another bilge pump down there, under the boards in the living bit, with a special switch that will keep the posh end of the boat pumped out, and we wouldn't have nearly sank on the way home and all of that"
Guess what?
I lie
The hairy dynamo had beat me to Pansy (bearing in mind he has 2 kids, a wimmin and lives on a mountain ledge in Weardale) by 3 hours, I had to go to Argos FFS we've all got busy lives! Mark found out by crawling around and sticking his hands in 'orrible places that there's a bilge pump, with float switch, midships - that is activated by flicking the "Shower drain pump switch". We never removed a perfectly well sited pump from the Henjin room and cobbled loads of pipe on, ripped up the boards to site it and pump from there to the sink - the sink out of the wheelhouse. We never removed the stairs and mark didn't spend a pleasant few minutes using a drill powered by the shorelead drilling out mouseholes in the cross fahoojeys. NEVER HAPPENED. We have one more pump.
Bog doors back on BTW
