bringing other peoples gear up all the time when fishing

last time i was on boat last week, was getting a bit sick of getting caught up with other peoples gear, seemed to happen all the time, i was using a pound n half jigger as tide was strong, but i kept getting the look from them as if it was my fault when there had 8 oz leads, i did change my line from penn dynabraid to dacron 60lb , would this be the cause ? was strong tide and most of time i was fishing under the boat, i do what i always do drop to bottom and jig, i dont just let the line go out after i,ve hit bottom, makes the day bad when all ya seem to be doing is sorting there tangles out, with no help from them p***** me off, had a guy say to me cut ya line as i got braid. i had braid but put a leader on lol. any thoughts ?

when we go to ireland everyone drops down
then the 1st person back up moves around the boat in rotation so everyones lines arent crossed
it works fine for us
