  • Last chance saloon!

Well here we are, all too soon, our last charter of the holiday is tomorrow! With only 2 fish each for our one and a half charters the pressure is on! It has been so disappointing fishing wise, I can't begin to explain it. Months of planning, every tackle option under the sun, bait options and still we have failed really. When we went into reception yesterday to find out bus times to Seaton Sluice for last night, the girl at reception asked "Are you the couple who asked to use our freezer space for fish!" "Yes we are thank you, but the freezer compartment in our fridge in the caravan has sufficed up to now!" Bloody hell, even the Holiday Park is laughing at us!

Poor old Mark spent a couple of hours this afternoon, tidying up the tackle box in the hope of a good day tomorrow, while I enjoyed a few ciders. We had a lovely morning in Tynemouth today while the weather was at its best. Off out soon for an early tea, with no alcohol and an early night.

Let's see what the morning brings!?

Lynn you cant get so down on yourself you have caught thats the main thing! Its all down to the fish at the end of the day you cover all basis and sometimes just wont come together . I have £80-90 worth of shads every colour combo you can imagine and it still took 9 trips to catch my cod other than macky which is all I had managed lol I'm out the morn on blueye2 with fresh mussel so lets see how that pans out ......at least ya Ken ye had a gid holiday!!!

you should have had a walk along Tynemouth pier this morning, you would have seen some of the top north east anglers struggling to find sizeable fish and maybe a little advice from one or two of them. davy.

Hope yous fill a skip tommorow the only thing I would have factored into your trip was the size of the tides but at least you've had good weather.

Yes Lynn is now fully aware that I took no account of tide sizes!

I knew nothing about them, rest assured, she will not let me make that same mistake again mate!

Best of luck to both of you tomorrow. I am sure there are more than a few members on here looking forward to a spectacular report. It's got to happen sooner or later

I mark I've always found shore fishing big tides, but not the case on the water but like anything in life it's a big learning curve.

Good luck to you both, I'm sure this is the one.

I mentioned on your other thread we've had some good catches on big tides, I looked it up, 27th July last year, 5.27m tide we had over 100 between the three of us. Norm and Tony also filled the boat that day.
                    Cheers, Keith.

Yes have a good day, looks ok weather wise. If your having a hard morning dont get down, if the wind direction stays the same the last few hours of the trip maybe the best with wind v tide.

Always remember when wreck fishing.......that next wreck could be loaded with fish
