  • how long will the swell last ? any ideas

    anybody no is it days or weeks? as in over 20 yrs of boat fishing i,ve never been sea sick, but swells frighten me to bits lol. i keep thinking the boat will capsize at any time, i know it dont bother the skipper but i cannnot fish when theres a swell on

    i no expert mate but i think as soon as the wind changes westerly the swell should die down

      the swells didnt stop us from getting out

          Nice one sless, pleased yous got out. I changed my routine cos of the comp on sunday so had other things on today ...

          Still, should get out tomorrow anyway (sunday) are yous still fishing it?

            We'll still be fishing the comp in 2 weeks Norman.

            Sless is gonna post the catch report for today, but we had a canny morning AND a lie in lol.

              Aye Keith we got a late start tomorrow (8.00) due to the tide.
              Was the catch in the usual places, thought of going south a bit tomorrow

                Nothing in the hot spot but too much tide, only one down south, but 3 mile wrecks produced

                  sorry Keithm, hijacked your thread, back to the topic ................. there`s been a bit westerly (turned NE at end of day) so a lot of the swell is off if I`m not mistaken at the moment. Fingers crossed the wind remains down during the night and it`ll flatten off nicely

                        Watch those swells, wouldn't want the spray hitting him, he might gan rusty well even more rusty!

                          seems to be looking ok for saturday and sunday up to now
                          nice forcast and small or 0 swells
                          thursday is looking great 24 predicted loads of sunshine and a slight to nothing swell
                          i belive it when i see it tho lol good luck all them heading out during the week
