We'll be getting so used to the choppy seas we'll be suffering from "Sea Stillness" if those westerlies ever arrive

winter 2004 I think Norman, I can remember when I could pick and choose when I went out in my boat, you could count on the sea being calm in the summer. Not now.

Have booked light sou' westerlies from July 20th for a week. Usually works so get your boats sorted for then.

If not I have also booked an alcoholic back up plan lol.

Apparently it's all down to the jet stream. According to forecasters "The summer will have a Southerly tracking jet with Northern blocking and although drier, there should be more incursions of cooler northerlies" !. Could be a repeat of last years summer. Also, do you notice how the Northerlies seem to correspond with the weekend.

The way the weather is now, the simple answer is to plan any 7 days in july or August and you are bound to get at least 1 of them with a westerly.
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,
but P*****g everyone off is a piece of cake.
