you got/getting a gps for it as well?? without its going to be hard work finding wrecks.
get a chartplotter and local charts and you'll see hundreds of wrecks already marked on the charts fairly close in. on a good calm day, maybe 5 mile off as a limit...... get a vhf for it as well if you've not got one. even if your only planning to go half a mile off
you can do a lot worse than all around the yellow can at the back of st mary's lighthouse, at this time of year and you don't need any gadgetry to find that!ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ.

as for licences all free these days, do it on line at Maritime Radio | Ofcom
apply on line and get a lifetimes licence for nowt, if you want a peper licence like the old ones you can still get one, but is 20 quid a yearʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ.
