  • The joys of owning a boat

Huh!! well it looks off the shore for me this weekend all that rain we\'ve been having, well it happened the electric bilge pump knacked up and guess what. yep the water hit the starting motor, it lies low in the boat, threw the other switch pumped out all the water, left it to dry out for a few days went down today started up no problem.
Switched it off tried to start her again, flames out the starter motor, gutted as it\'s the weekend.
Ah! well the joys of owning a boat. Maybe join all the school kids on the piers somewhere.

Hubby\'s just came back with the starter motor, a corroded wire for a start, the salt water is a bugger, hope that\'s all it is.

Change the brushes and leave it to dry out completely before you put it back and it should be OK. If you don\'t change the brushes it will burn out the commutator ring after a few throws.
