  • Dirty Water!

Headed off yesterday afternoon at about half two hoping to get tight in round Hauxley head at the Northern hills. There was a bit of eastely swell at the harbour mouth which made getting out a bit interesting and I headed south. I got to the south end of coquet island and could see the waves breaking on the end of hauxley head with about a 2.5m ese'ly swell so deceided no to bother in my little boat! The upholder was heading in on my way back in and he confirmed what I had thought, the water is couloured again due to the lift! I just hope it doesn't take too long for it to clear again as the fishing depends on it up at amble. The floodwater from the river coquet was all of the way out to the island as well!I will catch my first fish this season soon!!! I hope!

      Hello mate

I launch from the Amble boat club when I get the time that is. Might see you out there some time. I have 15ft cathedral hull with a red top ABIDAN. Can be a bit hairy getting out sometimes. usualy just hang around the Island or just north of it usualy do alright.
Might be able to swap a few marks !!!!

      Regards

      George

I am out at 6am from Sunderland, not sure where we going yet but heard a few good reports today from the lads in the tackle shop, just hope they true.

Water around the Tyne is also like cola with all the rain and the very small 3.8-3.9 tides last week.

          Hello George,
I can give you the marks we fish no bother, sorry i haven't replied earlier, been to Dublin for the weekend on the beer! I have returned with a hugely depleted wallet, over 5 euro's most places for a pint! Just let me know if you want LAt's and longs or I could scan a chart I have got and send it, any marks you have would be much appreciated. We only moved up from creswell the year before last and the last time I fished out of Amble was about fifteen years ago just drifting along the fleets of pots marking the hard ground. We did fairly well last yeart with the most codling I have ever caught to be honest but that was mainly heading South around the Northern hills and creswell carrs. The fish were all good quality but no whoppers, hopefully that will be this season! Will be off this week on tuesday and thursday depending on the weather!

          Graham.
