the trip back was no bother, bit of snow blizzards, heavy rain, then blinding sunshine certainly a day of all seasons
the boat was no bother to tow back especially on a 6 wheel trailer, took 7 hours from essex marina to wallsend, i thought that was okay considering i never went above 55mph and only stopped once for diesel
will post some pics tomorrow ( well will email them to someone else to do it for me )
had a quick look at the engine, has only done 141 hours seems to have snapped a valve, its knacked the piston and conrod, and has not done the cylinder head or cylinder liner any good

Essex marina is the type of place a boat owner could spend all day walking around and dreaming of boats, they have boats there from £1000 to £ 1.6 million wow!!!!

        Good site that aint it.

I was all set for a Quicksilver 500 but took one out on Monday and it just felt way to cramped in the cabin and with the large out board not much space at the back, was abit shocked really.

I have now set my sights on a Arvor 18 but not been able to find any in 50miles of us that i could have a look at. Tried Amble,Tyne,Wear,Pool,Whitby,Scab and Hull the last 2 weeks.

Got a feeling this will be dragging on until i find what feels right.

Couple nice Arvor 18s in Kent and Mersy but long way for a look at them.

Kieth that's one great site ,I keep thinking maybe we'll not move house and I'll get a boat. I must admit I like the look of the Quicksilver boats.

Arvor 18s seem to be going for between 12k and 15k second hand, would "push the boat out" for the right one but like i said i still not seen an arvor 18 yet in person.

theres an arvor 18 at royal quays to look at to see if you like the style......if you buying from a proper dealer there would be no probs buying it unseen...well thats my experience any way, anyway kents not that far away go down and make a weekend of it, as kieth says you've got no chance of getting an arvor for £ 10k, i think Ritchie your setting your sights to high for the budget you've got, your either going to have to stump up some more cash, or get a cheaper boat for a year or two then sell it and buy something else

Arvor 18 on B&O in merseyside for £14k.

Only a 50HP engine but I suppose it will be economical.

There wouldn't be enough deskspace for your catch Ritchie!
