  • Attention all shipping....

well, all done and dusted, deposit paid, paying the balance next weekend...

    originally she looked liked this:

when she finished fishing she turned into this:

but sadly someone took the masts off and replaced the wheelhouse so now she looks like this:

but when she was fishing she had a bit of a reputation for doing this (hope to revive this one):

so, Messrs Me and Thompson Esq are now the proud owners of a bit of a veteran, 50 foot of oak on oak, ex seine netter, with the gayest name on the tyne, pray be upstanding for the impending arrival of "Pansy" God bless her and everyone within a 5 mile radius. loads of beds and couches an that, jacuzzi, sauna and other stuff (might of made some of that up)

Have possibly located the original missing masts, so they'll be going back on (need somewhere to hang me hammock), full tanks should give her a range of getting on for 2000 miles, so can see some monster missions in the summer, graveyard, dogger and beyond!

we will of course be expecting a full fanfare and fireworks for the arrival on the tyne, boarding tickets will be issued to selected VIP's and naked ladies

    be afraid, be very afraid!

had toyed with St pete's to save a few quid but too far from the sea, by the time she's, here, been out the water, scrubbed, antifouled, put back in and the berth paid for a year it'll cost nearly as much as the boat!

just discovered she's on the National Register of Historic ships as well. She's got some very interesting tales to tell already, and is quite famous up there

The masts have got to go back on though, looks so much nicer with them. The yard that took them off 5 years ago, remember her well and think they may still have them lying. hope so, can't imagine they'd be easy things to source.

The boats themselves aren't that expensive mick, in fact we found a couple that were for sale for a quid!

its the berth and long term maintenance of wooden boats thats the killer. but hopefully, we won't have to do much in that line for a good while, she had a massive amount of replanking done a few years back, so the hull is tip top. she won't win many races, 10knots will be about it, but will be 10knots almost regardless of what the sea can throw at her.

should get some good trips out this summer, you could fish a dozen without tangles!

Well done on the boat guys. It looks great. You have done brilliant in restoring her. There should be some sort of heritage grant. When the masts go on i bet she looks great.
