Hi all .... I managed to get out on Wandering Star out of Hartlepool on Sunday ... Advice of skipper to fish with shads on hard ground ... Whilst having Shads I have never used them ... Normally fish with hokkai or bait.... I managed my first ever ling using a rhubarb and custard shad .... Whiting came aboard too along with Cod upto 4.5lb. I realise nothing is guaranteed but any thoughts on prefered shads ? And methods of fishing ... ?

Hi pal, shads is all I use this time of year. Everyone will have there own methods and different type of lures. But I like to use a bright orange shad, always seems to do the trick for me.

Just been looking at shads choice is amazing .... The rhubard and custard I fished are coloured like no fish I've seen. Makes you wonder if the fish are just predatory towards anything that they see .... I foul hooked whiting
