rules for bass open
Prestatyn open bass fishing competition
GENERAL RULES.
1. The competition will be fished aboard private owned and insured small boats up to 21ft only; sadly we have not got the facility for larger/charter boats.
2. All entries made directly to Organiser’s Rep Mr. Bill Winstanley only on the day.
3. Competitors will launch no earlier than 9am and no later than 11am tractors will be available to assist thru out the day
4. Skippers of the boats will be responsible for time keeping and must be back on the beach with in the 5 hours timed match limit
5. Only two rods per person with a maximum of three hooks on each rod can be used.
6. The competition is based and judged on heaviest bass wins. The winner being the competitor with the heaviest single weighed in bass caught on the day. In the event of a tie the competitors will share the prize moneys. There will be additional awards for 2nd and 3rd
7. All fish must be over the NFSA minimum size to count.
8. No boats to leave waters edge/groined area before 0900hrs. The fishing area will be within a 10-mile radius from Prestatyn sailing club house.
Fishing times will be timed on the beach the boat must be at waters edge with in 5hrs of launch. Fishing may be at anchor or on the drift.
Weigh-in for fish will be at The Club House with club scales closing at 1730hrs.
All entry forms must be handed in at the scales with fish by closing time.
9. All complaints must be put in writing and handed to the organisers within 30 minutes of scales closing.
10. In the event of cancellation due to bad weather an alternative date will be nominated. Competition entrance fee refunds, less proper expenses i.e. postage, printing etc, will be given on request.
11. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone, at any time and their decisions are final.
12. A JUNIOR is a person who is aged less than 16 years on the day of the Competition.
13. Club house will be monitoring 0n channel 77 call sign Ocean Spray if any assistance is required thru out the whole day.
