  • Window Rubber?

Can anyone recommend anywhere (preferably local) for replacement boat window rubber?

    TIA!
    Cheers, Keith.

    Hi Keith we once used

    Rotec Industrial Rubber Products
Unit 4 Frazer Industrial Estate, Station Road,
Hebburn, Tyne and Wear. NE31 1BD
    Tel: 0191 483 6036
    Fax 0191 428 0984

they had the seal on the shelf but were expensive, then the next boat we had ,the missus said why not try the AA or RAC windscreen replacement guys, we did, and it worked out a fraction of the cost, And they removed and replaced the windows and seals in no time. hope this helps mate.

      Cheers Tommy,

Bert bought some rubber for around the outside of the boat from Rotec last year. I looked at their website but couldn't see the window rubber so assumed they didn't sell it.

Would the likes of Autoglass do replacement boat rubbers?
      Cheers, Keith.

You must mean the straking rubber Keith, the rubber that trims between the hull and the topside of the boat, I think it will be unlikely that the windscreen guys will have that, but the lad who replaced our window rubbers had two different channel thicknesses with him which seemed to cover most eventualitys in the window department though, but were too thin for straking. I know that Storrar stock rolls of various widths of straking that you can buy by the metre. but autoglass should be fine for the windows, the lad who done ours said he had done a few boats and caravans. by the way we are not AA or Rac members ( I cant remember which organisation it was that done ours) best of luck with the Shady though.

I was just gonna say caravans. try United British Caravans on sandy lane, probably be exactly the same stuff, but due to the lack of the word 'marine' will likely be a third of the price

other option... are you cutting new windows or just replacing the rubbers?? If its new windys as well, cut them 1" over all the way around and drill & bolt them in place, will last forever and less likely to be leaky

Try this one. They aint local but will send samples so you can see if it is exactly what you want. They have just about every seal profile going and the service is quick!
