  • EGNOS......anybody receiving it?

    hi folks,

used my new plotter last week and the most accurate fix i got was 21 feet, would this be EGNOS at work or is this a normal degree of accuracy these days?

My Gamin 182c plots to an accuracy of 6ft according to the satalite page, takes it about 10 mins from switch on to rachet down from 30 to 6ft. Accuracy then varies upto 18ft but the norm is 6ft -12ft. CJS

mine is a lowrance set and it is supposed to switch to EGNOS/WAAS automatically, better check the manual, its no good checking it in the back garden because the hills at the back of my house cover a lot of signal and the best i can get is 50-60 feet

                      les (and all)
we got a lock to pass through from marina with a gate thats about 30 ft wide ...... I pass through gate every time on Garmin plotter so accuracy is better than 15ft
to be honest I always see trace on the same side of the lock gate even though I`m in the middle therefore in reality the accuracy (repeatable) is better than 7.5ft (just needs 7.5 ft offset to tune it, but all my marks are set to same so I leave the tune)

LOL couldnt live with 40ft, would never catch LOL
