Just a quick update . I tried the shads , storm and grub lures over the weekend . The action in the water is outstanding on all counts ( even the gulls were going for them ) look just like a fish going through the water , very impressive .
Never caught owt on them like , but expectations are high :P ( damm site easier than pirking as well )
Sounds like your weekend almost mirrored ours...not much at distance but plenty inshore.
We also tried the shads, grubs and storm lures on the wrecks at the weekend without success. Got to agree with you regarding the movement in the water though......outstanding!!
I\'m sure they will come good when the water clears a little more and the wrecks are worth fishing.
you should try the shads over the inshore ground too, i had a lot of fish on a bright orange 4\" jeltek shad last year at dunbar and st.abbs, black/red firetail worms were deadly for pollack as well as cod.
