  • First Boat

I am now the owner of my first boat, a Seahog Shortie. Got it for a good price with the option to buy all of the electronics ( GPS, VHF, sounder). Has a 40HP Mariner 2 stroke. Also have option to buy his auxillary, 4HP Suzuki 4 stroke, absolutely immaculate.
Probably be on here quite often asking advice.
Speaking of this, where is the best place to get boat insurance from?

Good luck with the boat Paul.

You could try here for insurance:

Craftinsure - Boat insurance made easy. We offer comprehensive Boat Insurance an online quote takes less than a minute to complete.
    Cheers, Keith.

Another on who will never have any money ever again

Carefull buying the secondhand electronics. There have been massive improvements in the electronics recently and old stuff shows it age when put next to newer models. My new plotter updates about three times faster than the Garmin 128 I used before. My old fishfinder lost the echo at speeds above 7 knots...new one copes up to about 25 knots. New radios have dsc...worth having.

I got my insurance online from this lot...cheep and meets the requirements...

44 quid for a 16 footer which is cheeper than I have ever paid and instant cover..just print off the document.

Any help you need just ask...we all started somewhere and you wont find a more helpfull forum than this one in the NE.

      Cheers
      Dave
