  • Boat Fishing For Disabled Anglers

I received the following by email. If anyone can help, please add your reply to this thread. I'll make the sender aware of them. Many thanks in advance:

I am looking to take a group of disabled people fishing in the north east . Do you know any boats that have facilities for wheelchairs ?

If not is there another regional or national organisation that might ?

    Thanks
One organisation that I thought of is:
The British Disabled Angling Association information on the charity as a whole, including its management, services and projects.

I'm pretty sure the charter boat "Diablo" caters for disabled anglers.

diablo does indeed. there's a ramp & lift at the back so you can get wheel chairs straight of the pontoon and in through the transom

      Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

give a man a fish and feed him for a day - teach the man to fish and feed him for life!!!!

Hartlepool marina has a disabled lift to allow wheel chair access to boats.

I have just spoken to John on Flamer 2 who said in theory it means there is wheel chair access to his boat but he has never seen it in operation. He is going to check it out tonight when he gets in and I will post his comments here.

          Cheers
          Dave.
