I've bought quite a bit from hong kong and china, not had a problem yet, its always just arrived with the postieʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ.

Mick,
Personally I think the depth feature on reels catches more anglers than fish.
It doesnt matter how deep it is in terms of numbers as long as you keep your bait bumping the bottom.
I have used a couple of these measuring reels in the past ...the analogue one suffered in that it did not account for the differing diameter of the spool as the line paid out...this meant the deeper you fished the more inaccurate it got.
I also used a penn xxxLC with a digital display(cant remember the model number). This proved to be spot on with the depths when related to the fish finder from 60' to over 440'. It always read within 6 feet of what the fish finder said. Not bad but ....
I was fishing a small maccy strip in 440' on a 30 class rod with an 0/2 hook...the target species was a very rare black mouth dogfish which i had caught from the same mark before and still class as a major personal best...it got taken by a skate...ooops. Borrowed rod!
I managed to get that fish 22 metres off the bottom...a figure confirmed by the fish finder before it decided it wanted to go back down. For all the technology in that reel it had a star drag...the hook straightened and I lost a potential 100 lber. Take away the techno bit and give a reel a good lever drag and you will land far more fish.
Just my opinion..

Cheers Dave i know where you are coming from. I like my 7000 but its old now and i wanted a half decent spare.
I bought a second hand cheapy reel off e-bay a while back. The photo was put on here.
I used it for a full day as i lent my 7000 to a young lad on the boat.
The cheapy reel had no level wind and i really missed that. Plus the handle was to little so it was really hard work.(think i,ll put it back on e-bay).
When i have been on day trips to the coast and visiting tackle shops i have really been impressed by Leeda boat reels. I may buy one of these in the future. There was a lovely combo in the shop at Berwick for £40 but i did,nt get it. I wished i had now.

Over the last week or so i have been carrying out an internet converstion with the people in China where i ordered the reel.
Its like a wind up, any mention of money and they fail to understand.
Its getting to be quite a laugh . I,m not bothered about the £22 it cost.
Anyway latest offer i have submitted is-
You send me Akuma reel i send back your reel please.
Wonder how that one goes.
Reel cost was a fiver, rest was postage.£17.
Our lass says forget it and keep the spinning reel. Tha company did offer to send me 8 spinners as compo. i would,nt have it though.Personal best, 12.5lb Tope Scotland. 22/05/2012.
