  • St Peters Basin

Hello, new on here, good site. Does anyone here tie up in St Peters Basin. If so have you any idea what the hell is going on there at the moment.
The gate has been out of order for months and you can only exit and enter safely when the place is manned. Thats ok if there's someone there but now they just don't seem to turn up.
Normally this time of year the place is full of new boats, this year it's only half full.
    Anybody any info?

Dont Know much about St Peters (other than done me apprenticeship there at British engines ) I`ts too far from the sea for me, so I suspect it`s more of a riverboat type of marina.

I looked into it and it is very cheap but as Norman said its so so far from the river mouth. You need to do 8 miles just to get on line with the piers

Itis cheap only 600 quid a year. However it is tidal and you can only get in or out when the waters over 2 metres. Was quite a nice little community when I first went down but seems deserted now.
It is 8 mile upstream but plenty people travel downstream to fish the sea. Also a few boats a Ouseburn are always on the way in and out. Can be a pain but can also be an enjoyable run down anticipating whats going to happen.
