There's a programme on sky called mythbusters , they try to prove or disprove all kinds of myths , one they worked on was seasickness pills and potions , they tried all manner of off the shelf remedies and even prescription drugs , the only drugs that actually stopped them feeling sick also made them so drowsy that fishing would be out of the question. They do a thorough job of testing everything even to the point of using placebos to see if the cure was all in the mind.
Anyway , the only thing that actually worked ...... was ginger!

Didn't they construct an oscillating swivel chair type scrinson to replicate the motion of the ocean as well? quality programme...Discovery need to bring out the newer series soon, coz I've seen 'em all about 20 times already

I think a full belly is the key.... fill a bottle half full with water and moved it around slightly - the water sloshes all over, if the bottle is full it don't slosh as much. I reckon the same applies with your stomach if there's less in it its gonna slosh about more which might exaggerate the effects of seasickness

I've tried stugeron and the like and they just make me want to go to sleep, big bowl of porridge, maybe a banana or 2 for brekkie, bananas, bikkies and the like when I'm out

Its something you must get accustomed to as well. first trip or 2 every year and I feel more iffy than I do later in the year having been out a few times

only other thing I routinely do is get all my rigs/tackle sorted before I set out so I don't have to spend any time on my hands and knees sorting gear out whilst the boats bouncing around. head down sorting sorting traces out is a sure fire way of setting me off

                      Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

                          Mal De Mer

Ginger snaps or ginger marmalade sandwiches are supposed to keep it away, keep out of the cabin and watch the horizon from time to time, it's all to do with the inner ear and balance.
