Will be 1 part oil to 100 parts petrol.
So if theirs 1000ml in a litre ( i think), it would be 10ml that you needed to add to one litre of petrol.
10ml oil to 1 litre of petrol
Usually theirs a chart on the side of the 2 stroke oil bottle to help.
Please wait for a few replies before you try out my reconings, so I can be told if I,m right or wrong.

Neither.
100:1 is a ratio i.e. 100 parts fuel to 1 part oil.
so, examples of this ratio would be:
100ml fuel : 1ml oil
1000ml (1 litre) fuel : 10ml oil
10 litres fuel : 100ml oil
100 litres fuel : 1 litre of oil
The example you have been gives of 100ml oil per litre is a 10:1 fuel to oil ratio. The second example cannot be given as we don't know the size of the fuel tank.

Not my best subject , but...... the easiest way to work it out is by the size of container you buy your petrol in. If you are using a 5ltr plastic petrol can for instance you will need to put 50mls of two stroke oil in,....... er! I think!
If you have a big jerry can that holds 25ltrs you will need 5 times as much i.e. 250 mls... again .... I er... think!
Once you have decided the correct amount for your petrol container , get another container that holds the correct amount of oil for the mix and keep them together , cos if you are anything like me you will have to work it all out again the next time

Buy a Yamaha 2 stroke because it has a separate oil tank and works it out for itself!. 25 litres of petrol plus 250 millilitres (mls) of oil (1/4 Litre) = 100:1 mix. 5 litres petrol + 50 mls of oil = 100:1 mix. Most tanks are 25 - 30 litres capacity for 40 - 75HP engines. If you put in 20 litres at a time plus 200 mils of oil you will be ok.
Only use proper marine 2 stroke oil as it is designed for the harsh environment of the sea. Watch out for the new Evinrude Etec engines as they use different mixes depending on the oil you use. They can only be set up by the dealer and you must use the same oil every time.Bill Raine

when I had a premix motor I used to have a jam jar, I measured exactly 50ml using a 5ml syringe (the sort you get for force feeding wee bairns with calpol!) into the jar
stood the jar on a level surface and put a ring around the jar with insulating tape, then sis the same again so there was 100ml in it
100:1 fill jar with oil to first bit of tape for each 5 litres, for 50:1 fill to second
bit of tape and add to fuelʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ.
