  • a day out at hartlepool

weather looked fine as i arrived ,set out had a few drops with bait nothing for a while ,mate dave pulled in a cod about 3.5lb on feathers ,few whiting here and there from andy ,while later with feathers on baited with macky i took a pollock at about 2.5lb first one off a boat ,moved on to a wreck about 5 miles off other boat there already as we arrived ,which had a round 6+ fish, one pollock had looked around 10lb mark ,i took a ling at about 4lbs a baby really it went back to the depths ,dave took another cod at 5lb , rain came in thick and fast ,and so did the thunder and lightning ,so we headed for land ,decided to stop off for a few mackerel half mile off the heugh took around 20 odd between us and the rain came even more ,off home we went ,still a canny day out with a few pals and the odd fish

        Hi Cod seeker,

Went down to Hartlepool yesterday and went in the yacht club for lunch. I had planned to go out but overslept and missed the tide for my planned launch and decided to go see about joining the club.

Sat on the veranda enjoying the view when that big black cloud came over, hail and thunder. Glad I was where I was rather than where you were

Seems membership of the club runs april to april so I would be wasting half a year and they have no storage space left. Also I found it odd than anyone fishing with me would have to be club members too...which could get expensive. So its back to Sunderland for me.

        Cheers
        Dave
