Must be going back to the early 70's with this one! I can vaguely remember that one started then another two just a few weeks/months later the same year. Rose anne?, Wanderin Star or ???? Star. It was about the time the old pilot boat was bought and converted as a live aboard. It was moored on the corner of the Fish quay for months while being converted. Didnt one of them have a yellow / orange hull and white cabin & topsides?. Certainly before 1976 because I used to launch from the Yacht Club slip next to the Banjo Pier and can remember them passing us and I sold the boat in 76. I think two of them used to go out together.Bill Raine

hi ,wandering star boat i can remember that one been trying to remember it since putting thread up it started after ros-e but was berthed right next to it,they were both aqua star boats, think it used to cost me about 18quid for a wrecking session in them days.when trev newton could be bothered he was a crack hand at getting boat over the wreckdid you know panel pins comes in diff sizes ?

Aye John,
Both boats were Aqua Stars but the 3rd one was different model (Aqua Belle?). Seem to remember when it first started out it was 12 quid but soon went to 18 quid and the rest went to a tenner. We used to pay Barry Anderson a fiver a man in the early days to fish down Skinningrove way during the summer. I was Treasurer of Horden Fishing Club way back then. The other boats name has kept me awake all weekend and I still cannot remember it! Seem to recall it was a double barrelled name, The Huntress or something like that.Bill Raine

hi, can only remember the two wrecking boats at the time but must of been others. there was another a bit after took parties out for long weekends. i see you are secretary of boat comps at the harbour, fished the harbour now for years mainly the shore fishing but i always thought it was a shame there was,nt any boats taking parties out wrecking from there. last time i looked in dock in the harbour i could,nt believe it were are the boats . there used to be lots of cobbles, osprey was in middle etc now all i here about is people towing boats around i suppose it is good going were you want wrecking uptiding etc got me a bit envious to be honestdid you know panel pins comes in diff sizes ?
