South Shields Slipway

Does anybody know if the slip at South Shields has been cleaned.
I was over there a week or two ago and there was a lot of debris on the slip and the little bit beach thats there. It looked like the council had started to clear it as it was in a hugh pile, just wondered if they had got round to removing it as with a bit luck I\'ll be needing the slip tomorrow.

S/Shields slipway was clear on Sunday apart from a couple of big floating logs and a good covering of sand near the high water mark.
I phoned the council to get the slip cleaned in february but they said that they usually left it till after the winter but before the season opened. Bad news if you want to get out during the winter on the odd fine days.
