Bought one in the September which was an upgrade for my existing fishfinder a Garmin 120 which was black and white. The difference was truly amazing, I can see the wrecks now where as with the Garmin it was pretty difficult to make them out.

Fish shoals show up great at all levels.

I bought the version without maps as the plotter I have is better than the Dragonfly so cannot comment on how good or bad the plotter/GPS is.

It's a great piece of kit and I am glad I bought it.

I bought mine online at:- Raymarine Digital Sounder - Depth Sounders - DSM30, DSM300, DSM400

who were the cheapest at the time but not sure about current prices. Aslo cactusnav.com were also reasonably priced at the time.

There are a few others on here who have the Dragonfly so hopefully you will get more reviews over the weekend.

I bought mine in a local shop (StorrarMarine)

Very nice device, especially if you like wreck fishing.

I had an early problem with a connector pin breaking off. Went to Storrar Marine and I just got a brand new unit and now even have some spares double.

The picture is excellent and also the function of marking a wreck on the sounder, which then appears on the GPS plotter. Wonderful.

Downside is that you cannot connect it at all at home. I would wish to plan a trip the evening before and mark it on the plotter. I also would love to download tracks etc onto my IPAD to create a nice wreck base.

However: Excellent value for money on a small boat.

If you dont do wrecks....I would not bother and buy something else, possibly cheaper

In any case, come around and have alook on my boat and see what you think. Alternatively Storrarmarine has a try-and-test unit build up in their shop.

Cheers for that pal. Might take you up on the offer of checking it out on your boat. Hope you got sorted with some engines.
