      Excellent Idea Dave.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

Taking Dave\'s excellent idea a stage further, how about a NESA championship, based on biggest fish per species for the whole boat season say April to October. Entries by photograph only with declared weight, (fish only, NO pirks or 2lb leads hidden about its person TC). but for each photograph submitted £1 is payable, with the proceeds going to the RNLI. The best fish at the end of the season for each species wins a NESA big round of applause and goes into the NESA record gallery to be beaten next year.
If it doesn't bite its not worth catching!!!

          Doc
What a great idea. I am sure it will meet with a lot of approval - suppose it would also cover us none boat owners who use charters aswell. The more money raised the better. Tadpoleman(Bert) would be looking down the side of the settee for pound coins due to the amount of big fish the boys get. LOL.
give a man a fish and feed him for a day - teach the man to fish and feed him for life!!!!

Sounds like a great idea, best get the digi-cam out lol
Who\'s volunteering to recieve the pics and the funds?????
Could Mark create a seasons catch gallery (sorry Mark)
Perhaps an online vote at the end of the season to decide on the best overall catch/fish?

been toying with the gallery idea anyway. but one in the form of a web log - mainly cos I haven\'t wriiten one of them before. My stupid worload is going to slacken after easter, so I was going to finsih of an improved uploader with resizing, and also allow each image to carry text as well, so forming a \'blog.

a simple gallery is easy enough though, all you\'d need to do is bash in what text you want to accompany your images (if any)

Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

That\'s a very good idea, Mr. Mason ......like it !

I\'ll be up for taking part in (BUT NOT ORGANISING) that.

Now.....I\'m not nit-pickin\' , spittin\' the dummy, nor gettin\' annoyed......BUT.....I think I have been pretty sporting, good humoured and even (at times) self depricating over the \"pirk\" issue.

I think it\'s time that Mr. Mason himself informed the Board what REALLY happened - I\'m not putting my side of the story - I\'ll leave it to Dave to come clean about the matter and clear my name - he knows what happened.

I realise (knowing Dave) that I\'ve probably only fed him a bit more ammunition to keep this thing going still longer, but I HOPE (some hope...lol) that he takes this opportunity to put the record straight

                    LOL

I have to admire your candour over the \'pirk affair\' tony, an affair I know sod all about really but have only been too happy to prolong!

but at least you have been fairly perky (!) about the insults, and I for one will try not to mention it again,

unless you buy a boat with a pirkins engine.

Now TC, you know we ALL believe you really, its just that without the reference to the pirk issue every now and then, we\'d all be moping about longing for summer again, call it an urban legend if you like. However, we\'ve got more mileage out of it than the Boys are likely to do in a summer!!!!!! (sorry Bert couldn\'t resist that one). Although I doubt that even if Dave does explain all, the legend will die, thats why they become legends, the story just goes on and, on and, on and............

Jason, I envisaged it being open to all, charter boats and privateers. The only problem I could forsee would be available web space, I know it was a problem when Jaybee ran the site. Perhaps, any gallery may have to be updated regularly with non-contenders removed at the end of each week/month, I don\'t know what the crack is here regarding web space but I\'m sure TC or Mark do.

With there being so many excellent fish being caught, of such a variety, perhaps there should be a limited number of species specific categories, say:

                      Cod
                      Ling
                      Haddock
                      Bass
                      Tope
                      Flatfish
                      Pollack/coalfish
                      others

What geographical boundaries should be placed on the competition, if any.
If it doesn't bite its not worth catching!!!

                        Lol, Doc.....

I appreciate what you say, ....lol... \"Urban legend\"...lol,lol,lol ...lol

However, what started off as a bit of fun with the lads on the Board, has just gone on & on. New members (who have absolutely no idea of what the circumstances were) are joining all the time and getting the impression that I DID actually commit the dastardly deed.
I\'m all for a bit of fun, but I really do think that this \"legend\" has dragged on long enough.

as long as it is pirkolated............LOL

OK point taken Tony, I\'ll not mention it again, perhaps DM should boot this one into the pirk, sorry I mean park and we can all forget it ever happened. A quick explaination should put the record straight although I\'m jigged if I know what the fuss is about.

On a separate note TC, I see we have similar music taste\'s, Alan Parsons Project etc, Do you like Graham Pirker and the Rumour too, how about Pirk Flyod or the Pirk Fairies, noooooooo stop it, its getting out of hand, say three hail mary\'s and bash myself on the head with a pi......., no that hurts Topecatcher tried that last year and I\'ve still got the dent to prove it.

But that brings a thought to mind: how many bands or song titles have something to do with Fishing in, theres the obvious ones like Shaved FISH (John Lennon), Judas PRIEST, FISH (out of Marillion), ROD Stewart anyone know any others.
If it doesn't bite its not worth catching!!!

This should really be moved to another plaice but I will leave that to Tony. There are hundreds of names that could be used here. From Eddie Fisher back in the 50s and Edison Lighthouse in 1970 (tenuous) Stevie Wonder (when I\"m gonna catch another fish) I won\"t even mention Martine McGudgeon from Eastenders. Come on Tony lets put this somewhere where it will be apreciated.
