  • Marks out of Amble

As I came back the other day from fishing coquet island I bumped into a lad who said that I should try the cresswell skears. Does anyone have any co ords for this mark or any other good spots not to far from Amble. I promise not to give them to all and sundry !

I usualy just knock around the Island and have had fish there but would like to try some new marks. Any help would be gratefuly received.

I'll post the result of all the fish I should catch there !!!!!!!

A friend owned a boat there in Amble till a few weeks ago an I used to get to go out with him now and then. He used to come out the harbour and head North to a flat area and we always produced some good catches there. More so in Mackrell season with 3 - 5 mackrell per drop.

He ALSO went out to a Wreck a few mile out (closely guarded secret by him) and was catching some good Cod from 8lb to good double figures.

We had a catch and return policy and i STILL return all my fish.

Last trip I took was to Kirkudbright of Manxmans rock a few weeks back but it was a bit of a naff day the fish were off and the weather was attrocious.

        Cheers Mark,
It would be mostly inshore rough ground but weather permitting I may fish a wreck if its not to far away. I would appreciate both if you don't mind mate. You can PM them if you want.

Usualy just knock around the island by the pots but when theres nowt catching I'm of into the unknown.

Any help would be grateful mark.......

george cresswell skeers are quite a run from amble not sure how fast your boat is, need to take care and watch tide as they can be tricky not to be fished in big swells but do produce some good fishing take plenty of tackle very snaggy.

Cheers mark much appreciated I'll let you know what I get there. It'll be good to head to a spot rather than bimbling along. Going to try and get out tue weather permitting.

              Thanks again.
