    Hi Seajay,

I assume your boat is trailable as you mention taking it to Scarborough, You can launch at the south gare at redcar but you need to ensure someone from the boat association is there to open the gate.

Alternatively you can launch at Hartlepool marina slip Three hours either side of high tide but they will take your eyes out for the launch fee. You can also launch at hartlepool yacht club . About 200 quid for the year but you can store the boat there in a secure compond and can use the rather nice clubhouse if you so wish.

Seaham boat club has an all tides launch but you would have to join the club and a bit further north is my choice of sunderland slip which is an easy all tides launch even without a 4 x 4 launch. Annual ticket only at 96 quid for my boat last year ...which is equivalent to 4 launches at hartlepool.

If you insist on launching above the barrage you could try full revs and a spot of slaloming on the north end of the barrage....or use the lock on the south side of the barrage You would still be a long way from the sea.

    Cheers
