went out yesterday 6.00am start heading back to the canns to try and repeat the other week, sea was a bit lumpy on the way out but did settle.
sure enough wore kid was down 10mins and pulled up a scotchie, then straight after another scotchie, one of these went straight into the pan , ya cannot get fresher than that, i struggled to get a bight for about an hr, problebly due to the fack of being stuck in the cuudy frying fish a making tea,
my first and only fish was codling just under 2ld, wore kid caught 4 codling, 3 scotchies and a small ling (went back) the other lad had 4 scotchies and 2 codling,
after a flat spell we decided to make a move , we pulled up the anchor and 5 mins into the move we thought the engine had siezed with a sudden jolt and cut out , after knocking it out of gear we found the engine hadnt siezed , this lead onto the drive shaft which we couldnt turn at all,
we had got a lump of stray rope stuck round the prob mabey of a pot or old anchor line , who knows
after an hr of trying to get down to feel the prop head submerged under water being held by the legs, absolutley freezing to the point of head pain,i could feel the rope wrapped round numerous times,then leading of to the bottom i did manage to cut this we had to come back in on the reserve 5hp, luckily taking us 2hrs plus .
we got back to the quays and managed to cut it of with a diving knife strapped on to a boat hook ,
all in all we were just pleased to have got back and sorted the boat , could have been worse i suppose , but still a right sickner
