  • Broke Duck On Kingfisher

left the quays with norman (slinky kate) about 6.00 yesterday, whatched him dissappear into the distance while we plugged along at our 6/7 knots, landed at the can to see norman and sixfootsteve pulling up thier coley's.

after half an hr driffting we decided to drop anchor , me brother dropped in some daylights tipped with lug and caught a couple of pouting within 20mins, i stuck with the lang trace laden with lug sqid rag ,an hr went by and i had a good yank on the uptider, this lead to a codling bang on 2 ld, wore kid immediatly switched to the same rig and we both fished this way for the rest of the day.
we finished the day with 8 codling smallest being bang on 2 ld and the heaviest 2 1/2ld.4 pouting returned and 3 small codling returned
to the middle of the day i had a good knock and pulled this oot the water not sure what ye call it even wore youngin shooted what the chucks that, any way it tasted nice, it was 2 1/4ld pic 0015
during the day we saw a multitude of boats come and go without any sign of fish , all of them at drift , we must have just hit lucky, i we also had a big bag of rubby dubby on the bottom it all helps i suppose ive put a few pics on , took with phone though so not the best,

    stroll on the next time

                Welcome to NESA Rob.

Great report Glen and I have to say it has me thinking. A couple of reports lately have mentioned long traces and that is the way I used to fish from both the boat and the shore when I first started fishing due to a couple of books I read back then.

Got to say a look back to basics might not hurt.

                Jim.

Your fish is a scotch haddock. I think there a bit to boney to eat myself.
