Glen, I've got a PDF version of the manual for a 4108 if it's any use to you. A friend of a lad at work has that engine in his boat & i know he had bother getting hold of a replacement starter motor. I think they were fitted in really early transits.
What's the name of the boat you've been offered?
The Boys doesn't go much faster than 7 knots and is canny in a roughish sea.
kieth
went to see it yesterday left him deposit seemed canny bloke , paying himm in full friday ,he also trying to sort mooring for me as its half bat compaired to rq where ive got mine, think its a colvic but not sure , do you know the boat
glen
wouldn't worry about the 7 knots bit... Its a full displacement hull, so will be solid as a rock. you'll still be doing 7 knots when the planing boats are coming back in doing 4. Main think I'd look at is a new jabsco impellor in the water pump if its not been done recently
I know the boat, looks quite canny. my last boat was moored in sunderland. Only thing I'd say is that yes its cheaper there, but leave nowt on the boat. The security is hopeless
looks like a colvic seaworker which are built like a brick outhouse and a good seaboat, if the hulls 1981 to 1984 there's a good chance I might of laid it up! Used to work in a boat yard that made Colvic Northerners and Seaworkers
