        hi tooly,
both sat and sun look not too bad for wind but might be a bit wet saturday.
As for catches, it`s a bit early for me, easter is my main starting point, I was out last sunday just for a couple of hours but nothing doing (not even a whiting) still it was more of a brush the cobwebs off the boat than a serious fish so you never know you just may be in luck, let us all know the results.

ps I`d be using rag and squid this time of year .. for what it`s worth

If its any help mate i was out weds, along saltburn way, between 2 of us we had 15 codling to 4 lb the fish came in 2 mad spells, on the tide, also vary your baits whole squid was killer in the first spell but runnydown was the only bait they would touch in the second spell ....Save your best bait for when the tides running well ,dont waste it while theres very little tide running .good luck and enjoy.

Tooly forget the visuals, jiggers etc the sea is too mucky ....(save them for may onwards when the water is clearer then use shads) but having said that you never know fishings weird
Norman...cheers mate praise from a respected skipper is praise indeed..ha ha
.. hows this for how unpredictable boat fishing is ,
                    while we were out weds
I anchored on the hard ground close to the edge where the ground got softer ...maybe 1/4 mile away we noted another boat anchored on the soft ground to our left but same distance offshore (bout 1/2 mile out) we arrived with 2 hrs of the ebb left , had a mad 10 mins with 2 fish + bites (on squid) then everything stopped (the tide was running strong)... bits for us for the next 5 hrs then, on the flood tide when it started running bang bite after bite, fish after fish for 2 hours (runnydown) .resulting in 12/13 fish + the bigger ones.... but the strange bit .....?? on the way back we stopped to chat to the boat on the soft (1/4 mile) and he had the exact reverse loads of fish on the ebb only 1 in 5 hours on the flood... I also had a new species (for me) dogfish 2 1/2 lbs
