        Don\'t know of the sea conditions has played a part in your catches or maybe just less fish further South.

        The sea was flat yesterday 40 mile up the coast from you lads, with a light North by North West wind. I went out for a few hours in the afternoon and had a poor day but others faired better.

        The \"Village Belle\" fishing from Burnmouth had 40 odd fish mainly small codlings in the 1 to 3 lb bracket.
        Today there was a bit more movement in the water but \"On a Promise\" fishing from Berwick had nearer 60 fish, again most of them on the small side with the biggest fish of the day just over 3lb.
        As you say roll on the spring run, last year there were plump spring fish on the grounds around Spittal Hirst on the 30th of March, six weeks to go and counting....

            We made it out Sunday, lasted till dinner and had eight small codling to show for our efforts. See the forecast was spot on again

                Stayed inside brid bay to aviod the swells, it was possible to fish outside but not very comfortable as norman says a good day for a sea trial, but thats about all. As usuall the wind was non existant on monday
                Yeh 12lb fish won on sun and the same bloke had a 10lb fish from the same mark on sat.
