  • It Was COLD

Cold Day out today (Sat 14th Feb), bit of a N.N.E. wind which brought in cold snap as well as cut up a bit rough, so much for watching the forcasts ..... never mind had a good day out, good just to get afloat, nothing much in the way of catches only a couple of small codling over hard ground.
Great to see Dave M finally got his boat out in anger in a good big sea and eventually it was the bearer of a catch. (even if it wasn`t Daves fish)

wish I\'d been there Norman but them that should be obeyed was (for once) waiting for Daves catch report.

Was it too cold for bare chests and shorts. Still laughing at you and the crew at the last comp, us lot waterproofed up on IS\'s boat. Met by the second hand Chippendales! aye mr. Winter et all. Shocking sight scaring the bloody mackerel away.

That wind scuppered Bert\'s plans of heading north, so we spent most of the morning anchored where you saw us Norman, got loads of whiting ( some fair sized ones as well ) and about half a dozen codling, biggest about 3 pound, caught by someone who was breaking in a new Reel

Next time that anchor needs hauling, I\'m gonna pretend I need a crap!

Ian, you looked too cosy in that posh jacket, fishing is about freezing your Horlicks off ???

Dave, new boat looks the dogs!
            Cheers, Keith.

Cold, It was bloody freezing, and guess who forgot his gloves. Just looked through my box to count up on how many hooks/weights ect,ect I lost, and guess what I found, TWO hand warmers and a box full of charcoal sticks!!.
Never mind, we couldn\'t expect anything less, As Dave and Rich agreed, it is the middle of february and still the middle of winter...
Still good though to get out there and get a couple of fish, Nice way to christen Daves new boat, Nobody blanked, .

The sea did get a bit naughty after a while, 10 minutes, but I think he was quite pleased in a way as it showed him what the new girl can do, and I\'m sure after today, and another 10 hours, She\'ll be getting alot more,

All in all, a great day, Daves new boat is champion, but the other boat we went on today was also a welcome sight. (warmth and feeling of fingers coming back).

              Cheers Lads.

                  Brilliant day.... as usual.

Got shown how to fish.... as usual.

Bought to much bait.... as usual.

Lost a load of weights.... as usual.

Had a couple of jars afterward.......the reward for having to freeze me pinkies off.

Thanks again Norman.....but I think it may pay to wait for the next couple of month for the fishies to come back off holiday.

                  Brilliant piccy Marc
As my dad used to say....Man who go to bed with itchy bum......wake up with stinky finger!!!

So much for the smooth - slight forecast . As Norman loosely described it \"A bit choppy \" . The boat handled very well and it was good to use it in lumpy sea like that and learn it\'s capabilities .

Not much about and most places were tried by at least one of us , the fish are either VERY close in or miles out .

That was the earliest I\'ve ever been out , middle of winter :P whatever next .

20lber next Dave, next time i am on Dolly i am going to put a rope around me for when you power up, must have nearly been over the side at least 4 times as well as Mark nearly going down into the fuel tank bay lol.

Nice fast smooth boat that can take some stick..as everyone said it was early in the season but it\'s better than being at work or in the house.Nice that everyone met in the pub afterwards for a couple of pints...and my baked taee.

The only thing missing was the small issue of freshly caught fish, howeve that really was a small Issue, the day out, the company, the and crack afterwards in the Zetland was just the best.
LOL if only that high pressure had stayed to the south instead of drifting north ............
Went out again today (Sunday) but just giving a mate an idea of how the boat handles (he`s got his name on another 625 Dave and is at South Woodham next weekend for open day to decide). What a big sea Woooo Hoooo when you go just for the ride and your not looking to fish it`s great to hit a big sea LOL just like the big dipper today over the bar.

Nah, I\'ll not buy quite as much next time.

Although it may have warmed up and we may have a few more fish feeding......oohh decisions desicions

Noticed a few boats out today.....they must have been keen.
