Just checked the weather and it looks good from tomorrow until at least Sunday.

Yeah jeff, been watching the High build since sunday, Its big (in area not so much in height) and will hang around for at least the weekend lets hope it keeps to the south east of us and draws the warm air in from south across us in a westerly (as it looks to be doing) direction.
If your out in our area see if the skipper will give us a call on channel 8
Also is he interested in joining our RNLI Comp on may 30th.
call either (or both) Dolly (Dave) or Slinky Kate (myself)
drop me an email if skipper is interested in our comp

                  Hi Dave / Norman,

Will give you a shout...probably Saturday. I\'m off to Chicago next week and have things to prepare so I\'ll not be able to fish all weekend.

I\'ll ask the skipper about the comp. He works away a lot so may not be able to give an answer until the last minute.

How far North do you plan to go at the weekend? Any advice you could pass on?

Thanks for the weather commentary Norman....I\'m still learning this type of thing and your help in doing so is much appreciated.

                  Cheers and happy fishing,
                  Jeff.

                    Cheers jeff,
reference weather, just take notice of the pressure charts their the ones that count. air (in this part of the world) always circulates around a high in a clockwise direction and a low in an anticlockwise direction. Highs are a lot more settled than lows, they tend to hold their shape a lot longer and better (as well as being warmer). best is a big area high with not steep drop offs (isobar lines far apart). Isolated sudden highs and lows move around and bring wind.
Since air travels around a high in a clockwise direction then in north east the best possible position for centre of high is to be south and east of us (as it almost is now), this then brings air from the south so its warm and circulates it into us from the west so giving a flat sea.... LOL best of all possibilities. Of course if you get a low and its to the south and / or east of us it pulls in cold scandanavian air and whips up the north sea into a frenzie (ok for the shore lads mind).
I`ll listen out for you on channel 8, will probably try wrecks to about 6 mile and maybe north as far as blyth.

Thanks Norman...keep those weather lessons coming, much appreciated.

You say you\'re trying a few wrecks......we always stick to the hard ground this time of year. Do you bait fish them? What are the tactics?

                              Cheers Jeff.
