Thanks for all the great advice on rigs lads. I finish work on Wednesday and with Lynn not off until Saturday afternoon, I guess it is 2 days of rig making for me. Taking the light gear as well as the boat stuff, because we have caught no mackerel yet, so a wee shore trip somewhere around Filey before the charters is required I think. Mackerel and squid will be the bait of choice, along with shads of all sorts and some plastics that The Jester sold to us. Well actually he really just let me have them for a pittance, so thanks Chris. Have plenty of leads too (I hope!) If not Dustybin will be getting a fevered call.
Not sure if everything will fit in the new car!? Phoned the park and they kindly said that if fillets are vacuumed packed we can store them in their freezer, then ice packs for the trip home. Vacuumed packed? Mmm? Then the very next day a Lidl brochure came through the door and what was one of the offer items? Yup a vacuum sealer. A steal at £20, so bought that, sorted!
Lynn is packing my clothes, as she says I'm crap at it and with space at a premium, she is in charge of car packing. I may be getting the train!
11 days booked at Cayton Bay, courtesy of The Daily Mail - £187.50 so just over £17 a day, amazing! We won't have the luxury that we had in March, (which we paid real money for) and hopefully we won't have the crappy weather either!
All set really, getting silly excited now. A week today and we will be tootling down the A1, smiling broadly.
Four charters in Whitby booked, all plans in place.
Just need the fish to come to the party!!
Ah the memories!
