  • Filleting Board

Afternoon gents, after some advice here......

I've got an Alaska 500 and I'm wanting to get a filleting board that I can attach and remove from the side of the boat - ideally something around waist/stomach height in order to save my back!

I've looked at the railblazer and bison boards which look good but I'm slightly sceptical about how exactly they will attach etc. Has anyone who's got a similar size boat got any ideas or advice?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I got the Bison one mate and it is spot on, I have a rail at the back of my boat so just fitted it with a Scotty rail adaptor like this-

Or you can screw a Scotty mount straight into the GRP to fix it.

I got a 15mm plastic chopping board and screwed 2 x 22mm pipe clips to the underside, add a bit packing to keep it level, it clips onto the rear handrail...total cost £5.00....

That looks spot on mate, excuse my ignorance but exactly which bit is the scotty board? The problem I've got is I have a bench seat at the rear of my boat so ideally I'd like it on the side - I've got a couple of existing grab rails so it looks like it'll attach to one of those.

Where did you buy yours from?

        Cheers

Cheers Si that looks spot on, only slight problem is that the board will not allow me to get the boat cover on when attached - are these fairly easy and quick to take off and on?

              Cheers

Yes mate, lift, twist and it comes straight off just like the rod holders. I havent seen railblaza's but the Scotty stuff is excellent and has never let me down yet
