  • Water Clarity? Worth a try Saturday??

    Morning lads,

Thinking about giving it a shot on Saturday morning what with a decent forecast and all.....

.....however, I'm still conncerned about the water clarity due to the last day of Northerlies - has anyone been out the early part of the week - was it beginning to clear at all?

Will it be worth a shot????

    Cheers

Lets hope so dave, I am looking at Sunday and Monday up to now.

We didn't hit clear water until well offshore last week and that was only the top clearing. The shads weren't in sight after about 10 foot down.

The nw breezes should knock the top off the sea, but clarity, who knows.

With these big stirs and all of the mucky rain water coming out of the 3 big rivers it may take a few days of settled weather for it to clear as much as we would like.

However, ya gotta be in it to win it,
    Best of luck.

    Fingers crossed

    Paul

I was out on Tuesday from late morning until about 4ish and the water clarity at 2 mile off was certainly an improvement from the previous weekend. My gear was visible for a few feet instead of vanishing after a few inches and as such the boats that were out recorded an improvement in their catches.
During the gloomy period there was always fish showing on my fish finder and it may be prudent to point out that some of the Yak guys have maintained a reasonable catch return throughout the murky period by adopting a strategy of uptiding. The fish are certainly there and once these Northerly's drop off we've got to get amongst them.

I'll be out sometime this coming weekend, but will be inshore bait fishing as usual this time of year as it is still early doors for the wrecks as well as everything being over a month late.
Good luck to all giving it a go either inshore or offshore.

I will have a look out tomorrow. Decent forecast, warm, no swell, no wind

The least I will catch is a sunburn, I guess

I hope the mackies will start to show this weekend

                WHAT!
You Never Mentioned Anything About 4 In A Row In Dispatches.
Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught

Monday for me to give it more time to clear Dave, and to see if there is anything worth going for after Saturday and Sunday's catch reports!
Fueled to the brim, to infinity and beyond!

Tomorrow’s forecast isn’t looking too bad either. I wonder if I can steal a head-start on the weekend by nipping out of work a few hours early early?

If everybody would always wait for somebody elses catch report, nobody would ever go out
