EFTTEX is to return to Amsterdam for the first time in ten years. The Dutch city proved popular with EFTTA members who attended the Annual General Assembly (AGA) in Budapest on 14th June the last day of EFTTEX 2009. Amsterdam won the vote over Nuremberg in Germany and Nice in France as the venue for 2011.
In a presentation highlighting the advantages of all three shortlisted cities, the Association’s General Manager Janet Doyle explained that a return to Amsterdam could potentially mean the highest increase in stand space costs for exhibitors.
However, voting members were swayed by the city’s excellent international transport connections, business links and the well-organised Rai Centre venue. At the AGA EFTTA reiterated its desire to continue to move the show around Europe to give exhibitors access to different markets.
EFTTEX has been held in 16 different host cities in 10 different countries including Poland, Italy, Switzerland and Belgium since 1982. EFTTEX has previously been held in the Rai Centre, Amsterdam 13 times from ‘88 – ‘91; 93 – 97 (not including ’95), ’96, ’97, ’99 and 2001. It is a very popular destination also in part due to its great nightlife as well as its other cultural attractions.
The host city for EFTTEX 2010 is Valencia, Spain, a country which attracts over 21 million visitors annually due to its coastal location and fascinating culture. It is the first time EFTTEX will be held in Spain’s third largest city and the best of the fishing tackle trade is expected to come together for the 29th show to display their latest innovations. The show venue, Feria Valencia is the biggest and most modern exhibition centre in Spain and one of the top ten in the world.
